D'Oliveiras is one of the more classic Madeira shippers, and one of the few to survive from the pre-Phylloxera era. The Bastardo grape barely survived Phylloxera and basically disappeared from Maderia. Its excellent acidity supports this wine. Perfumed black walnut and green figs present on a seductive, drying palate. Bottled in 2006.

The palate is very elegant and harmonious, the breeding of this almost extinct grape variety really showing through.
