Avinyo is located in the heart of Cava country in Penedes, just outside of Barcelona. The winery's patriarch Joan Esteve originally planted vines on his property so he could have sparkling wine for himself and friends. Today, it's his two sons and daughter that carry on the tradition (although it now includes many more friends). The Avinyo Brut Nature is produced from 100% free-run juice (no pressing of the grapes) and was aged for 18-24 months on its lees before bottling. There was no added dosage before bottling so the wine is bone dry. It's full of bright, white fruits along with toasty hints and zippy acidity. Incredibly refreshing rain or shine.

  • Site: Can Fontanals at 250m to 275m

  • Grapes: 60% Macabeo / 25% Xarel-lo / 15% Parellada
