Bodegas La Cigarrera is located in the heart of Sanlucar de Barrameda. In 1758, this Almacenista began operations, and cellar master Ignacio Hildago began bottling his own Manzanilla in 1997. Ignacio is a ninth-generation cellar master, and all wines were previously sold to famous Sherry houses, including Lustau, for bottling. Aged for over 30 years in the solera, the Amontillado Viejo is one of the family heirlooms kept in the bodega’s Sacristia. This rare, hazelnut-hued oxidized sherry has aromas of deciduous forest and antique furniture. The structured palate is umami-packed, showcasing savory caramel notes and roasted pecans. The finish is dry, layered, and persistent.
