“Rocinante” was the name John Steinbeck gave his RV in his road trip book, “Travels With Charley”. He borrowed the name from Don Quixote. “In many ways, Rocinante is not only Don Quixote's horse, but also his double; like Don Quixote, he is awkward, past his prime, and engaged in a task beyond his capacities.” This sense of humor reminds us a lot about our relationship to working with these old mysterious trees.
Creating Rocinante, Bardos traveled to various counties, from West Sonoma to the wild roads of Irmolco in Mendocino and then to an old homestead orchard east of Fort Bragg on the Noyo River. This Cuvee is a blend of historic fruit that represents the journeys we take to find rare heirloom orchards that have stood the test of time and remain alive producing fruit full of personality and unique expression.
King, Summer Banana, Baldwin, and Spitzenberg from a historic homestead orchard east of Fort Bragg. York Imperial, Rhode Island Greening, Winesap, Rome Beauty sourced and dry-farmed by the Walker Family.

Love this piece of equipment, and it's so classic and beautifully designed.
The chocolate is delicious and I was well pleased with Spanish Table!
Great chips! Thin, crisp and well seasoned
Very nice the Jamon does bring back fond memories of the afternoons in a cafe in Spain. Thank you
I love these- have them in just about every size you have! Discovered them when we lived in Spain several years ago and am so pleased that you have them!
Always arrive well packed and safe! Thank You!
Perfect for tapas!
I am new to fried favas. This brand is the tastiest i have found so far. Fresh, spicy…yummy!
I may be somewhat partial to Soria to begin with, but I really think this chorizo is the best of all. Very well packaged also, which means it stays fresh for quite some time if you only can have the discipline to eat a few slices at a time.
We've been using the Rey De La Vera pimentons (both Dolce and Picante varieties) for years. We aren't daily consumers of them, in fact we only finished the last cans of them after six or seven years. Even so, we like them well enough that this was the brand we came to at once: why tinker with success?
I lived in Spain for 10 years and discovered Fabada early on. It became (along with Cocido Madrileño and callos) my favorite dish. This brought back many happy memories. The quality of the meats and the exquisite taste of the morcilla and chorizo really made the dish sing! I will definitely recommend this to anyone and will purchase again.
Muchas gracias!
I've enjoyed the Pimenton varieties from Rey Da La Vera for probably a dozen years (but we don't use it all that frequently, I just finished a pair of 2.6 oz tins (Picante and Dulce) after that length of time), and found The Spanish Table as a source for both Dulce and Picante, also Agrodulce (which I hadn't been able to find way back then). As far as smoked paprika goes, I'd rate this very highly.
A beautiful piece! I’m so happy that I now own one. ¡Y olé!
These are the best white anchovies I’ve ever had.
Delicious wine consumed on a Friday end of Summer evening. I don’t have the lexicon to truly do it justice so simply try it. Nicest Portuguese wine in a while!
