Thomas Postigo 2018 Blanco Verdejo Rueda

Thomas Postigo 2018 Blanco Verdejo Rueda - The Spanish Table

Thomas Postigo 2018 Blanco Verdejo Rueda

Toasted spices from the oak gently support the classical notes of Verdejo: aniseed, fennel, white and stone fruit with a heaviness and depth mixed with notes of pastry.  On the palate, it's deep and creamy, elegant and complex with refreshing citrus aromas balanced with the acidity. It offers depth, volume and structure, with a long and spicy aftertaste with a slightly acidic finish.  The perfect BIG barrel-fermented white to pair with special occasions.  As usual with Spain, this wine offers amazing value: it offers  a Grand Cru Burgundian profile at a very reasonable price.

Tomas Postigo, in case you didn't know, is the genius behind the famed Pago de Carraovejas Ribera Del Duero wines.  He parted ways with the pago after many incredible vintages and now works on his own with his sons.  He took his genius with him, and has found amazing grapes to work with.  Try his reds - they are as spectacular if not more than this white.
