Introducing 24 Mozas, a lovely crianza wine made of 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) from 40 year old vines and aged for 6 months in new barrels. In the glass, it shows deep garnet-red hues with a clean, purple-tinged rim, greeting the nose with pronounced fruity tones that evoke very ripe black fruits (blackberries), with hints of coconut and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is dry, with balanced acidity, well-structured, and flavorful. The pleasant texture of smooth tannins supports harmonized interplay of oak and fruit. The finish is fruity and slightly spicy, with good persistence.
Named after ‘24 maidens,’ this wine pays tribute to Toro’s exuberant traditions and the spirited folklore behind the classic tune Tío Babú. In the song, a lively wedding is said to boast 25 maidens—until someone wryly points out the bride shouldn’t count. (Must be a local Toro thing!)
