Bodegas Ramirez de La Piscina 2019 Rioja Reserva

Bodegas Ramirez de La Piscina 2019 Rioja Reserva - The Spanish Table

Bodegas Ramirez de La Piscina 2019 Rioja Reserva

Nestled in the heart of Rioja’s Sonsierra, Ramirez de la Piscina Reserva is crafted exclusively from 100% Tempranillo, sourced from both estate and long-term leased vineyards in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Ábalos. The grapes are meticulously hand-sorted and destemmed, with fermentation in stainless steel followed by extended maceration. Afterward, the wine completes spontaneous malolactic conversion in concrete tanks, before ageing for 18 months in a blend of French and American oak barrels, with an additional 5 months in stainless steel and at least 18 months of bottle age prior to release.

On the nose, the Reserva opens with expressive aromas of red fruits—cherry and plum—alongside subtle hints of cedar, tobacco, and dried herbs. On the palate, it delivers elegant structure: fine tannins, balanced acidity, and mineral undertones from the calcareous clay soils. The finish lingers, showing both depth and finesse. Whether enjoyed now or cellared further, this wine embodies a steadfast commitment to classic Rioja tradition and terroir.
