Yzaguirre Vermouth Rojo Reserva
Yzaguirre Vermouth Rojo Reserva
1 review
Yzaguirre is one of the small number of producers who still make vermouth near Reus, an area just south of Tarragona that used to have well over a dozen producers. Their Red Reserva spends a year or more in barrels where it develops more richness and roundness to balance the herbal notes of vermouth. Their suggestions for enjoying, "As an everyday aperitif or early evening drink. Excellent in a long drink with a few drops of Campari, 3 or 4 ice cubes, a slice of orange, a twist of orange peel and fresh mint leaves. It is also perfect for seasoning meat or game stews, shellfish paella, desserts and patisserie."
We would also open a can or two of conservas (seafood in a can), some potato chips, and serve this on ice with a slice of orange. That is a perfect afternoon pairing.
