Cesar Florido Moscatel Dorado Chipiona
Cesar Florido Moscatel Dorado Chipiona
Cesar Florido Moscatel Dorado is a sweet wine from the town of Chipiona. Legally it is not a sherry wine or a wine that can be recognized from the DO of Jerez as Chipiona is not an authorized town for production of sherry (although it literally sits right next to Sanlucar de Barrameda on the Atlantic. It is lighter in texture than the Moscatel Pasas (also available at The Spanish Table), quite floral, with aromas of spices, raisins and a hint of orange. The wine comes from the oldest bodega in the town of Chipiona. The bussiness started in the 18th Century and still belongs to the same family. The surrounding area of the town is mainly devoted to the production of Moscatel grapes like the ones used to fill up this bottle. Moscatel Dorado was aged and blended for one year using the "solera" system.
